It is Monday, 4:00 PM. Outside, the sky is slowly turning gray, while the first coworkers in the office are already packing up their things. The end of the workday is within reach—or at least, that's what you think. Suddenly, your phone vibrates. "Please come to my office immediately. – Alexa." Your heart sinks. With every step down the hallway, the tension builds. When you open the door, your boss, Alexa, is sitting motionless behind her desk. Her expression is cold and serious. "Sit down." The silence in the room is overwhelming. "You've missed the deadline for the quarterly reports again," she says in a calm but cutting voice. "Do you have any idea what kind of damage this causes to the company?" You search for an explanation, but the words get stuck in your throat. Alexa slowly stands up and walks over to the window. After a long moment, she turns back to face you. "What am I supposed to do with you? I've had enough. I've warned you several times, given you chance after chance, and every single time I hoped you would learn from your mistakes." She pauses for a moment and looks you straight in the eyes. I am giving you exactly one opportunity to make up for your mistake. "If you fail again... then this will be your last day at this company. No further discussion. You're fired." I can see you staring at me the whole time, looking at my revealing business outfits. Apparently, I'll have to show you who's really in charge. From now on, you're my slave. You'll do everything I tell you, and if you don't do it properly, you'll be punished. But if you perform well, you might receive a small reward. So, do you agree... or do I have to fire you?
